An Unforgettable Experience Buenas, Tch\u00ea, how are you? Teacher Paulo here to tell you a little about our participation in the Saint Patrick's<\/strong> Parade 2025, in Nagoya!<\/p>\n

Saint Patrick, the man who made Ireland a Christian country!<\/h3>\n

O St. Patrick's Day<\/strong>, celebrated on March 17, is a tribute to St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland.<\/p>\n

He was born in Britain at the end of the 4th century and, while still young, was captured and taken as a slave to Ireland.<\/p>\n

After years of captivity, he managed to escape and later returned to the country as a missionary, helping to spread Christianity across the island.<\/p>\n

Over the centuries, his figure became a symbol of Irish identity, and its celebration evolved from a religious event to a great cultural celebration, marked by parades, music, dances and the use of green as the predominant color.<\/p>\n

The History of the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Nagoya<\/h3>\n

Nagoya has embraced this tradition with enthusiasm, with the local parade taking place near the Osu Kannon Temple, a central point for cultural events in the city.<\/p>\n

Organised by Irish Network Japan (INJ), the event brings together the Irish community and cultural enthusiasts to celebrate the heritage of the land of the Leprechauns.<\/p>\n

A Cultural and Educational Journey<\/h4>\n

For the second year in a row, Spring School was honored to participate in this vibrant parade.<\/p>\n

Our students not only paraded through the streets of Osu Kannon, but also immersed themselves in a rich cultural and educational experience.<\/p>\n

During the event, students had the opportunity to interact with native English speakers from different countries, improving their language skills in a real and dynamic context. More than learning about St. Patrick<\/strong> and Irish culture in the classroom, they were able to experience this tradition in a practical way, making learning more meaningful and memorable.<\/p>\n

In addition to the parade, we organized a themed scavenger hunt, where students had fun looking for items related to the St. Patrick's Day<\/strong> and recording them in photos.<\/p>\n

After the parade, they participated in a trivia competition, testing their knowledge of Irish culture in a fun and engaging way.<\/p>\n

More than a School, a big family, Spring School<\/strong><\/a> We believe that learning goes far beyond books and the classroom.<\/p>\n

Our school is a place for experiences, connections and personal growth. Participating in cultural activities broadens our students' cultural repertoire and strengthens socialization, teamwork and self-confidence.<\/p>\n

These experiences are fundamental for the social and emotional development of students, as they allow them to interact, practice empathy and build unforgettable memories with their peers and teachers.<\/p>\n

We create a space where each student feels welcomed, motivated and part of something bigger!<\/p>\n

    Shamrock<\/em>:<\/strong> Three-leaf clover, symbol associated with St. Patrick;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Leprechaun<\/em>:<\/strong> Fairy from Irish mythology, often represented as a little man dressed in green;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Pot of Gold<\/em>:<\/strong> Pot of gold, often located at the end of the rainbow in Irish legends;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Emerald Isle<\/em>:<\/strong> \u201cEmerald Isle\u201d, poetic nickname for Ireland due to its landscapes;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Wearing the Green<\/em>:<\/strong> Tradition of wearing green clothes on St. Patrick's Day.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Participating in the St. Patrick's Parade in Nagoya provided our students with an unforgettable experience, reinforcing the importance of cultural immersion.<\/p>\n
