Spring School – Movie night, fun night!

Spring School – Movie night, fun night!

Hey what's up Springers! How are you?! A Spring School Iwata held another one of its famous events and today I, Teacher Vicky, am here to tell you everything that happened!

Films and series, as our school always emphasizes, are an immense source of knowledge, with them we experience different realities, investigate cultures, study stories and immerse ourselves in fantasy! And let's face it, who doesn't like to relax with a movie and popcorn, right?

But for us, this moment of leisure can also be an opportunity to learn, live with the language and train our ears!

For this reason, last month (May/2024) we held our Spring School – Movie night! A night full of popcorn and laughter for our students to enjoy a movie at our school.

We chose our film by student voting and decided on a classic: Back to the future. And to make things even more exciting, the students were dressed up as their favorite characters with a direct prize for best costume at the end!

We met at the Iwata school and with the help of a projector we transformed the English room into a real movie theater. The students took their pillows and snuggled up while the teacher handed out fresh packets of popcorn!

Did you feel like watching a good movie or series after reading this? So here's a selection (This Teacher's favorites, by the way) that can help you with your learning and, of course, to relax and enjoy!

1- FRIENDS:
This engaging series goes through the lives of 6 friends as they face different situations and is highly recommended to learn a lot by showing everyday dialogues!

2- High school musical:
Wow Teacher, teen movie? I know! But there's no denying that we learned a lot from relaxed dialogue in a fun high school plot.

3- Harry Potter:
This recommendation doesn’t shock any of my students, right? Harry Potter, in addition to being a classic, is also a great opportunity to practice our British English!
