Spring school – Ichigo gari and Sakura flowers
March 31st to Spring School Iwata took his students to the Ichigo gari and enjoy the Sakura flowers.
“Ichigo gari” corresponds to the practice of harvesting and eating strawberries inside greenhouses. It starts between December and January and runs until mid-April or May, depending on the region.
Most producers offer a portion of condensed milk, although the strawberries are sweet enough, but like me, the students who participated are “ants”, when it comes to sweets we didn't miss the chance for a little more sweetness!
We enjoyed the strawberries that were the size of our palms. And of course this was also a learning moment for everyone.
When the producer came to explain to us how to pluck strawberries and other precautions, our higher level students managed to pass everything on to their other classmates, making me very proud!
Not to mention that it was really fun to see people order “Okawari”, that is, repeat the condensed milk.
We ate a lot and had even more fun in those 30 minutes, which may not seem like much, but we were able to eat until we said “I can’t take it anymore”!
After everyone was satisfied, we headed to the “Flower Park”, the well-known Parque das Flores.
Until a few days before, we were very afraid of the rains this year, specifically during the Sakura season, which could affect the flowers, but as expected, even with that, God was in our favor, and 3 days before our trip the temperature increased, causing May many flowers bloom.
We had a sunny Sunday and were lucky enough to be able to enjoy the Sakura flowers and an exhibition of rare flowers taking place in the park.
We took lots of photos and our students had the chance to interact and meet other students, just as new friends had the chance to get to know our school and so we grow the family SPRING!
Events like this are only possible because of their company, our students!
Sensei Ale, spring your life!
