Our Teachers

Alessandra Sansei

My name is Alessandra. I'm Sansei, I've lived in Japan for 30 years. My hobby is “studying the Japanese language”. When I came to Japan I didn't master the language, but I fell in love with Japanese songs and soap operas and spending a lot of time with the Japanese made me interested in learning the language. Since then, I started studying. The more I studied, the more I saw how I still had to learn and that always motivated me not to stop, because I didn't want to learn Nihongo to just get by. Since I was studying, I wanted to have a Nihongo that was as natural as possible. Not learning beautiful words, difficult words and not knowing what situation to use in what kind of environment. I had the opportunity to work at the Department of Education for almost 2 years and at a traditional Japanese school for 12 years, where I began helping children and teenagers with their studies and realized that this was my calling. Today I already have JLPT 1 and I can say that I am lucky to be able to turn work into leisure. Studying Nihongo is not just learning another language, but freeing yourself from the deprivation of knowing things due to not knowing the language, it is leaving a limited life and means a step towards learning another culture and seeing many things with different eyes. And for me, teaching nihongo at Spring means collaborating in the liberation of many and a learning experience for me.

Heartfelt thanks to all Spring students and faculty

Fábia Roberta Viana

Fábia Roberta Viana de Araújo Tarui, hello! I have lived in Japan for 9 years. I am a Portuguese Language teacher at Spring School- Toyota unit since August/2022. I studied Journalism at the State University of Ponta Grossa (UEPG) and I also graduated in Pedagogy at Claretiano University. As additional training I have: - Literacy and Literacy; - Meaningful Learning; - Didactics; - Psychology of Learning - Played word: childhood, literature and storytelling; - Portuguese as an Additional Language. All these courses by the Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Sul (IFRS). My experience teaching children and teenagers in Japan took place at first with private lessons and then teaching in Brazilian schools. Working in the classroom here has always been very rewarding, as accompanying the students' intellectual and personal development in a multicultural reality brings important lessons to those who learn and also to those who teach. The Portuguese language as a language of inheritance or later acquired is of great value, as it enhances the broad understanding of linguistic and cultural concepts. Spring School is, in my opinion, a very assertive path for the success of its students! I can only say that I am very proud to be part of this team!

I worked as a translator for a group of American missionaries, and it was through this opportunity that I discovered and blossomed my passion for teaching English! Teaching for me is much more than just the act of teaching a class... Teaching goes far beyond a profession, it is the art of training not only professionals but human beings, it is unlocking limitations and together with the student discovering that we can go far beyond what we think. It's the gift of awakening gifts, it's giving yourself hard and daily and believe me, it's not for everyone. I discovered within teaching a love that only grows. Teacher is my calling! I've only been in Japan for a short time, and now I feel immensely happy to be part of such an incredible team as Spring.
